Traffic cameras on a 3D map: what the city sees right now
OKO places public traffic cameras right into the 3D city, so you see each camera’s latest image where it stands. Today there are mainly two networks: 250 cameras from Transport for London (JamCams) and 250 from the City of Austin, Texas.
How the cameras work
Cameras are still images, not video: thumbnails refresh every 3 minutes in London and every 5 minutes in Austin, and the selected camera every 10 seconds. When you select a camera, a view cone appears for it and the nearest cameras. In Austin its direction comes from the city’s data; London cameras do not publish a direction, so there the cone does not show the real one.
Airport cards also carry two selected live streams from YouTube: Prague (LKPR) and Los Angeles (KLAX).

Why there are no Slovak cameras yet
In Slovakia, open traffic cameras are published by the Slovak Road Administration on zjazdnost.sk. Their images may be shown with attribution, but only during winter road maintenance, roughly November to March — OKO is ready for them. We have not found other public traffic cameras with open data in Slovakia yet.
The ethical line
OKO works with objects and infrastructure, not people: cameras are there to show traffic and weather. We do not recognise faces or number plates and do not track individuals.

Is this live video?
No. These are images refreshed every 3 to 5 minutes; the selected camera refreshes every 10 seconds. Live video appears only in two airport cards from YouTube.
Why are there no Slovak cameras?
In Slovakia only the Slovak Road Administration (zjazdnost.sk) publishes open traffic cameras, and only during winter road maintenance. OKO is ready for them.
Does OKO recognise people or number plates?
No. OKO does not recognise faces or number plates and does not track individuals.
Does the cone show the camera’s exact direction?
For Austin cameras, approximately — the direction comes from the city’s data. London cameras do not publish a direction, so their cone does not show the real one.
